As you know, one of our missions is to improve quality of life through clinical investigation of naturally occurring, spontaneous diseases (we never induce injury or disease). The Iams Company has been very supportive of this goal. As a recent example, Iams has provided assistance in an important project conducted by Dr. John Broussard, who is studying the beneficial effects of diets in cats afflicted with chronic inflammatory bowel disease. This is a serious, long-term disorder that responds poorly to medication. Owners of these cats are extremely grateful for help in finding a way to improve the lives of their pets.
